Does the sun change how your eyes appear?

One time when I was on the bus, it was really sunny out and the light was partly in my eyes for awhile. A girl turned around to talk to me and then said that the sun really brought out my eyes and that they were gorgeous. My eyes are light brown and almost hazel. Plus golden yellow randomly appears in varying amounts around the outside. Is it the sun that affects the golden yellow?

It doesn't physically affect your eyes but different lighting can make your eyes appear different for as long as you're in that light.
